Parole hearing for Capill adjourned

11:03 am on 19 July 2009

A parole hearing for the former leader of the Christian Heritage Party, Graham Capill, has been adjourned until next month.

The convicted paedophile is serving a nine year sentence for abusing three girls.

Capill was last year denied parole, because he was still deemed to be a risk to the community.

A Parole Board says it was presented with two psychological assessments at a recent hearing for Capill.

One was by a Department of Corrections psychologist and the other by a psychologist commissioned by Capill.

The board has asked the departmental psychologist to comment on some aspects of the assessment by Capill's psychologist.

The hearing has been adjourned until late next month to allow for that.
