An investigation into dioxin levels at a New Plymouth park will begin next week.
An independent contamination specialist will carry out soil sampling work at Marfell Park in an effort to determine the risk of dioxin levels in the soil.
Contaminated soil was removed from the park in May, when rusted drums containing insecticide and dioxin were unearthed during excavations.
Specialist Graeme Proffitt and the Taranaki Regional Council both say the current risk of dioxin is low, but they want to carry out tests to ensure the issue is fully dealt with.
The work is to cost $80,000.
