Labtests issues list of new centres in Auckland

The new company which will do lab tests in Auckland has revealed its full list of centres around the region, saying it is on track for the start of the takeover.

Labtests Limited is taking over the contract from Diagnostic Medlab Limited in September, after a lengthy legal battle.

Labtests will have 56 collection centres around Auckland. It says this is six more than DML proposed in its last tender.

Chief executive Ulf Lindskog says nearly all of them will open earlier - at 7am - and more centres will be open on Saturdays, making them more accessible.

He says all collection centres will be open for service at the staged transition date, and the company has all the staff needed for the start, including pathologists.
