A 39-year-old man is due to appear in the Whakatāne District Court today in relation to a large seizure of methamphetamine.

During a search warrant yesterday in Ōpōtiki, in Bay of Plenty, police located nearly $60,000 worth of the drug.
Officers also seized a firearm, ammunition and more than $11,000 in cash.
Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Wilson said the search warrant was executed as part of an ongoing focus on the supply of illicit drugs in the region.
He said more arrests were possible.
