A man who holed up with a gun in the west Auckland suburb of Massey today has been arrested.

The Armed Offenders Squad cordoned off and evacuated several nearby houses in Cedar Heights Avenue while they negotiated with the man.
Inspector Shawn Rutene said he was eventually arrested without incident.
The police initially thought the man had been involved in an aggravated robbery, but they now believe he'd stolen a vehicle.
