A child is in a critical condition after an incident at a West Auckland beach this morning.

A St John spokeswoman says two people were flown by helicopter to hospital from Cornwallis Beach.
The child has been taken to Starship Children's Hospital and the other person is in a serious condition in Auckland Hospital.
