A man is missing in bush between Waihi and Paeroa.
Stephen Jensen, 47, from Howick, was reported missing by family on Monday after he failed to turn up at work.
His car was found by friends early Tuesday evening at the start of a series of walking tracks leading from the end of Taiari Road in Waitawheta.
This area backs onto Karangahake Gorge and walking tracks leading to Mt Te Aroha.
Police and volunteer searchers are covering areas of very thick bush.
