A girl was taken to Starship Hospital in Auckland after she fell off the back of a quad bike at Puketotara, near Mt Pirongia on Sunday morning.
The girl, 12, who was a passenger on the bike, struck her head on the ground and was knocked unconscious.
She was initially airlifted to Waikato Hospital, but was transferred to Starship on Sunday evening in a serious condition.
