Low cloud and heavy rain has caused the cancellation of five flights in and out of Tauranga Airport on Friday morning.
Three flights- to Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland - were unable to take off,
Two flights to Tauranga, from Wellington and from Auckland, were also cancelled.
Conditions cleared late morning but airport staff are warned passengers the situation remained changeable.
