A decision on the future of Wellington's recycling system has been delayed.
The city council is facing a $1 million shortfall in its kerbside recycling budget.
To meet the shortfall, council staff have recommended a switch from recycling bins to 60-cent recycling bags.
Councillors considered the proposal on Thursday, but unanimously agreed to delay making a decision until next week, until they have more information.
