Price rises on Wellington public transport look unlikely this year after a Wellington Regional Council committee decided against a fare increase.
Fares for bus, train and harbour trips went up in September last year by about 10% and the council was planning an annual increase to deal with rising costs.
The matter goes to a full council vote in June.
