A man sought after a Australian tourist was assaulted in Nelson has given himself up.
Detective Aaron Kennaway says a man, 42, came into the Nelson police station on Friday morning and made a video statement about the incident.
The tourist, 24, says a man tried to drag her into bushes on Haven Road on Sunday, but ran away when a couple came to her assistance.
An unemployed man of no fixed abode has been charged with attempted abduction.
