An 18-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following yesterday's stabbing in central Auckland.

A woman, who is known to the man, was stabbed yesterday afternoon on Auckland's Anzac Ave.
The 18-year-old woman remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
"This was not a random attack and the two people involved are known to each other," Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Armstrong said yesterday.
"Police were on the scene quickly and there is no ongoing risk to the public".
The man is due to appear in Auckland District Court this morning.
