A pedestrian has died after being hit by a truck in Whangaripo, near Wellsford this morning.
The incident happened at Whangaripo Valley Road about 6.20am.
The pedestrian died at the scene, and the truck driver was uninjured.
The road is expected to be closed for some time and diversions are being put in place.
