A woman has been charged with assault with a weapon following the death of a man in South Auckland this morning.

Police were called to a house in Manurewa at about 5pm and found a 56-year-old man in a critical condition.
He died at the scene despite attempts to revive him.
Police said the 57-year-old woman was known to the victim.
She's due to appear in the Manukau District Court tomorrow.
