Two people are trapped with serious injuries in a two car crash near Waihola, in Otago.

A police spokesperson says emergency services were called to the crash on State Highway One and School Road, shortly before 3pm, this afternoon.
A helicopter has been sent and the highway is blocked.
Diversions are in place and motorists are asked to be patient.
