Motorists can expect delays and detours along State Highway 1 after a fuel tanker crashed in North Canterbury.
The tanker crashed this morning to north of the Pineacres intersection between Woodend Beach Road and Sandhill Road intersections.
NZTA journey manager Lee Wright said fuel in the tanker was being pumped out and a crane would be needed to move the truck.
Detours were in place until the crash cleared and motorists faced delays.
