Nine people have been taken to hospital - two in a serious condition - after a two car collision near Te Hoe in the Waikato.
Emergency services were called to the crash shortly before 4pm.
St John and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter took nine people to Waikato Hospital - two in a serious condition, four with moderate injuries and three with minor injuries.
There were also two fatal motorcycle crashes earlier today.
A person died after a car and motorbike collided on State Highway 29 near the Kaimai-Mamaku Forest Park.
Another person died after a van and motorbike crash in Waihau Bay in Bay of Plenty.
