Wellington Phoenix beat top Argentina football club Boca Juniors 2-1 in Wellington on Friday.
The match was the third and final game in the Wellington club's pre-season build up to the A-League competition, which kicks off next month.
The home side scored first with new striker Dylan McAlister putting Wellington ahead 1-0 midway through the first half.
Phoenix captain Andrew Durante scored in the second half, nodding in a header from a free kick.
Durante also got Boca on the board with an own goal 10 minutes from full time.
Boca captain Christian Cellay was sent off late in the game after receiving a second yellow card.
The Phoenix opening A-League is against Gold Coast in three weeks time.
