On Tuesday evening we published an article about the death of teenager Valentino Laki in the Rangitikei River.
This article carried incorrect detail, including mis-spelling Mr Laki's name and that his mother had recently died.
RNZ apologises unreservedly for any distress these errors may have caused Mr Laki's family.
We acknowledge the information provided to RNZ was not sourced directly from Mr Laki's family.
