The New Zealand Rugby Players Association says a new agreement allowing overseas players in the country's super rugby squads won't disadvantage local players.
The collective agreement with the New Zealand Rugby Union allows for expanded super squads and the right to two foreign players per franchise.
Previously franchises were only able to contract players eligible to play for the All Blacks.
Players Association chief executive Rob Nichol says expanding the squads from 28 to between 30 and 32 gives them more depth for next year's longer Super 15 season.
He says bringing in overseas stars won't constrain the development of local players and should make the competition more exciting for fans.
The new collective agreement also raises the minimum payment for a Super 15 player from $65,000 to $70,000.
All Black players will each get a $100,000 bonus if the team wins next year's World Cup and $35,000 if the team comes second.
