Four people, including three children, have been taken to hospital following a crash between Taupo and Napier overnight.

Police say a truck crashed and caught on fire on State Highway 5, near Tarawera, about midnight.
Two children and an adult were taken to Taupo Hospital with minor injuries, while another was flown to Hawke's Bay hospital with moderate injuries.
Officers say the truck has now been cleared from the road.
