Some schools in Nelson were in lockdown earlier this morning, following reports of a man carrying a large knife.
Schools in the streets surrounding Neale Avenue in Stoke were asked to keep students inside as a precaution.
The man has been found and police are speaking to him. He has not been arrested.
Broadgreen Intermediate School principal Derek Lucić said it was required to lockdown and understood Nayland College and Nayland Kindergarten had also been asked to.
Mr Lucić said the school was now back to business as usual.
