Tauranga taxi driver Dev Sangha has formally identified the bodies of his wife and daughter.
Thirty-two-year-old Ravneet Sangha and the couple's two-year-old daughter Anna were found dead in their home in the Tauranga suburb of Otumoetai at the weekend.
Mr Sangha, who was away in India at the time, arrived back in New Zealand from India late on Tuesday morning.
Police say post-mortems have been completed, and the bodies have been released for funeral preparations.
They say they will not be releasing any details about how, when or where the victims died before the 23-year-old man accused of Mrs Sangha's murder appears in the Tauranga District Court on Thursday.
