The 40-year-old man had been missing since Sunday and his vehicle was located in the parking lot of the Te Toto Gorge Track.
A foot search failed to find him but the rescue helicopter was able to spot him quickly after being dispatched around midnight last night.
The man had apparently fallen down a cliff and was unable to climb back up.
He was treated at Raglan Police Station for hypothermia, cuts and scrapes, before being flown to Waikato Hospital for further assessment.
