Cigarette robbery at Auckland dairy

Police are searching for a man who stole cigarettes from a superette in Waitakere.

The man entered the Waitakere Superette on Township Road at 7.40am on Thursday morning and demanded cigarettes.

Police said he filled a large black duffle bag and then ran to white vehicle with a black bonnet, parked in a driveway on Township Road.

He is described as caucasian, wearing black shoes, black pants and orange 'high-vis' raincoat. He also had a tartan patterned hood over his face.

The robbery is another in a spate of violent robberies targeting dairy owners for cigarettes and alcohol.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact police.
