Police are investigating four assaults in Dunedin's student neighbourhood in the early hours of Sunday morning.

One victim suffered a broken nose and a cut after being hit in the head with a bottle, while another had a broken jaw after being punched in the head.
Two assaults took place on Hyde Street, one on Dundas Street and another on Castle Street.
Police do not believe the offenders were students, but said they believed two of the assaults were carried out by the same people.
