The Blues rounded off their Super 14 season with a pride-saving 30-20 victory over the Chiefs in Auckland on Saturday night.

Rudi Wulf scored two tries while Alby Mathewson, Benson Stanley and Paul Williams all touched down to give the win to the Blues, who had no chance of qualifying for the play-offs before the match.

Liam Messam and Save Tokula scored for the Chiefs.

On Friday night, the Crusaders beat the ACT Brumbies 40-22 in Christchurch to become the only New Zealand rugby side to make the semi-finals.

The Hurricanes bowed out of contention after losing 32-16 to the New South Wales Waratahs in Sydney on Friday.

The Waratahs and the Crusaders are joined by the Bulls and the Stormers in the final four.
