Monday's papers: Malls are still not busy enough for retailers who say Christmas trade is quieter than 12 months ago; car deal for All Blacks may not be continued; two separate shootings involving BB guns in Dunedin.

The New Zealand Herald reports some embryos created in IVF treatment are trapped in limbo, as fertility clinics cannot trace the couples who produced them.

Also on the front page: the wheels may be coming off the All Blacks: Ford New Zealand has sponsored the national team and the Super 14 rugby franchises for 15 years, and as part of the deal provides vehicles for players. But they are now guaranteed a vehicle only to the end of next year, when a decision will be made on whether the sponsorship continues.

The Dominion Post reports the ballooning cost of treating the health effects of a powerful new type of cannabis has led to calls for urgent action, including drug education for primary school children.
