A Northland primary school teacher who has admitted she is an alcoholic has been censured for drink-driving.
Michelle Campbell, 44, was found guilty of serious misconduct by the Teachers Disciplinary Tribunal, but will keep her registration, under strict monitoring.
She lost her license in January for drink-driving, but drove again within weeks and was put on a breath-testing regime by her school.
In May, she tested positive for breath alcohol on a school morning and was sent on leave.
Her lawyer said Ms Campbell was stressed, with a dying father and a marriage break-up, but was now abstinent and in a rehab programme.
The tribunal said there was no evidence that children in her care had been in any danger.
The school involved said Ms Campbell no longer worked there and it wished her well in her recovery.
