NZ Herald

The paper reports debt collectors and credit agencies want the Government to reverse a law change which expunges information about people declared bankrupt after seven years. Under the previous system, a record of someone being made bankrupt was permanently available to the public. The brother of murdered schoolteacher Lois Dear says he is disappointed at the lack of public outcry over the brutal killing of retired teacher John Rowe in Opotiki. The New Zealand Herald has a picture of Lady June Hillary presenting the Hillary Shield to All Blacks captain Richie McCaw after Sunday's Grand Slam victory over England.

Dominion Post

The paper says the first answers as to why an Air New Zealand jet crashed into the Mediterranean could be known within days, as investigators carefully piece together the doomed crew's final conversations. The aircraft's cockpit voice recorder is being taken to Paris where it will be dried before data extraction begins. Divers are still working to retrieve the flight data recorder. The Dominion Post says Wellington City Council is looking at selling almost a quarter of its shares in Wellington International Airport. And the Government is in talks to rescue 200 New Zealanders stranded by riots in Thailand.

The Press

The Press says the painting of Air New Zealand colours onto the Airbus is part of the focus of an investigation into the fatal crash. French aviation officials are investigating whether the paintwork affected external instruments providing data to the aircraft's systems. A leaked report on financial waste says the cash-strapped Canterbury District Health Board is wasting millions of taxpayer dollars by not paying its bills on time.

Otago Daily Times

The ODT says uncertainty surrounds a major funding stream for Dunedin's planned Otago Stadium after $18 million was wiped from the value of the Community Trust of Otago's overseas investments in just six months.
