North Shore police say a weekend drink-driving blitz points to growing offending, a trend being seen throughout greater Auckland.
Officers stopped 17,235 vehicles from Friday to early Sunday morning.
Police detected 94 people with excess breath alcohol, while 35 others await blood test results.
One of those caught had 11 previous drink driving convictions.
Police say the number of people caught is considerably higher than the last operation run on the North Shore, and that is a trend being seen throughout greater Auckland.
Of those found to be over the limit, 14 were under the age of 20.
The police impounded 13 vehicles, and suspended 18 drivers' licences.
