An 18-year-old man has been charged with assault after the fatal stabbing of another young man at a south Auckland property at the weekend.
Police said a fight broke out on Favona Road in Mangere on Friday night, and Samiuela Halaifonua, who was 19, suffered a stab wound and later died in hospital.
Detective Inspector Gary Lendrum said the police were continuing to investigate the death, and were not ruling out further arrests.
