The police have charged one teenager with the fatal shooting of another on a South Wairarapa farm on Saturday.
Ambulance and police officers were called to a property in Tuturumuri, near Martinborough, at about 9.30am.
They found Aaron Phillip Grimwood, 17, with a chest wound at the homestead. He died shortly afterwards.
The police have charged a teenager with careless use of a firearm causing death, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
They earlier said the evidence pointed to an accidental shooting.
