A man has been arrested after allegedly threatening to shoot two staff members at a Christchurch primary school.
Wainoni School was closed off on Wednesday afternoon when the 41-year-old is said to have made the threats, saying he was carrying a firearm in a bag.
Armed police made an arrest on the school grounds. He was not carrying a weapon.
Police say the matter seemed to have been related to a child-custody dispute.
The man will appear in Christchurch District Court on Thursday charged with two counts of threatening to kill, possession of cannabis and breach of bail.
