Gastroenteritis outbreak tailing off, says Massey

Massey University says an outbreak of gastroenteritis, which has struck more than 150 students, seems to be tailing off.

Only four new cases were reported on Sunday.

The university says health precautions will remain in place for the next few days.

The bug causes vomiting and diarrhoea. Students from all the university's halls of residence are affected, as well as some living in Palmerston North.

There was a similar outbreak affecting students sitting exams at Lincoln University two weeks ago.
