The number of jobs being advertised online continues to grow, according to the Department of Labour.
The department monitors vacancies on the main internet job boards, and says the total number of jobs advertised in the three months to the end of March increased by 9.5%.
The growth in vacancies for skilled jobs increased across all regions and was highest in Wellington (12.7%) and Auckland (10.4%).
March is the ninth month in a row where the number of jobs being advertised has increased.
The department says vacancies remain well below levels seen prior to the recession, but the consistent increase in advertisements indicates the labour market is strengthening.
