A truck that plunged into the Manawatu Gorge yesterday is still in the river, but State Highway 3 has now reopened.

The truck, loaded with milk powder, broke through the roadside barriers and plunged into the river.
Police were not able to say when it will be pulled out, although work to retrieve it began this morning.
The driver was not seriously injured, police said.
