The victim of an assault in Lower Hutt last weekend has died.

Jardin Whanga-Elliott, 21, suffered life-threatening injuries on Sunday morning after he was chased from a party, in Cleland Crescent, attended by more than 30 people.
He had been in intensive care in Wellington Hospoital and police said he died overnight.
Police are now treating the incident as a homicide inquiry, and are repeating a call for any witnesses to come forward.
