Police have released the name of the Christchurch man killed during a police chase on Wednesday night.
He was David Douglas Fowler, aged 52.
Mr Fowler was the driver of a motorcycle involved in the pursuit on River Road just before 11.30pm.
His death is being investigated by the Independent Police Conduct Authority.
