The father of a man taken hostage in an incident that led to a fatal police shooting in Whangarei last week says his son is still in shock after the experience.
Son Taylor, 29, was held at gunpoint by a woman for an hour in a Vodafone store before she was shot dead by police.
The woman, Lee Mettam, has been described as a P-addict.
Mr Taylor's father, Rudy Taylor, says the ordeal was terrifying.
