Credit card fraud and identity theft still arouse concern

A survey by IT services company Unisys has found that credit card fraud and identity theft continues to be of concern for many New Zealanders.

The survey found that 22% of those asked were extremely or very concerned about their personal identity security, up 7% from last October.

It also found that 55% are extremely concerned about credit card fraud.

Managing director Brett Hodgson says New Zealanders are becoming more accepting of technology in the interest of security.

Unlike earlier surveys, he says more than two thirds of participants say they are willing to have a full body scan at an airport, be fingerprinted or give a voice identification.
