The police in Christchurch want help to find a man they say robbed a dairy at knifepoint on Friday night.
They say the man entered the Nancy Avenue Dairy in the suburb of Mairehau at about 7pm and took a cash register containing a small amount of money.
He left in what was described as a dirty white Nissan Pulsar four-door saloon with no registration plates.
The car was followed by a member of the public but was lost in traffic after it turned south onto Cranford Street.
The man is described as Caucasian, aged in his early to mid 20's, of thin build, and about 1.8 metres tall.
