Hamilton-based lines company WEL Networks and Meridian Energy have reached an agreement to jointly build and run a wind farm near Raglan in Waikato.
The 28-turbine project costing $200 million gained resource consents in May but is under appeal to the Environment Court.
A court hearing is expected next year if mediation with the appellants fails.
If the project gets the go ahead from the court, WEL Networks and Meridian will form an alliance.
WEL Networks will own and manage the lines and sub-station, while power generator Meridian will own the turbines and the electricity they generate.
