A language school in Auckland reports an influx of Chinese language students following the signing of a free trade deal between New Zealand - China in April.

Euroasia director Ken Leong says classes at his institution are mostly comprise business people.

Mr Leong says learning Mandarin is a savvy move, as the Chinese will greatly appreciate the effort.

He says knowing a few phrases could make all the difference when it comes to clinching a deal.
