Three homes in Kawakawa Bay in Auckland have been declared too dangerous to live in because they're threatened by a massive slip.
Manukau City Council says the slip, which has closed the main road to the village since Sunday, is more dangerous than first thought.
Two of the homes, which are below the slip, were unoccupied and the third has been evacuated.
Residents at the top of the slip moved out as a precaution at the weekend.
The council's economic director, Rick Walden, says there are cracks in the rock face that could bring down thousands of tonnes of debris onto the road and the houses.
He's also warning residents not to walk past the slip area.
