A cyclist has been killed in a hit and run incident near Whangarei.
Frederick Ogle, 48, was struck by a vehicle travelling eastbound on State Highway 14 at Maungatapere at about 9.20am on Saturday. He died at the scene.
Police say the vehicle involved failed to stay at the scene. It's likely to have damage to the front and windscreen.
