The public is being invited to have a say on the Government's policies on retirement incomes.
The policy is examined by the Retirement Commission every three years to examine whether Government policy meets the needs of the retired population.
Commissioner Diana Crossan is urging people to make submissions.
She says the review will examine how retirement income policies fit with policies on housing, home-care and health.
Ms Crossan says it will also look at retirement savings schemes, including KiwiSaver, and the recession's impact on savings.
She says home affordability is also an issue, since home ownership is a cornerstone of comfortable old age.
If people at the age of retirement don't own a home or have savings there could be issues for them in the long term, she says.
Public submissions close on 30 April.
