Up to 300 Tuhoe people are expected at Parliament this week to sign Terms of Negotiation with the Crown for a comprehensive future Treaty of Waitangi settlement.
The iwi is not a signatory to the Treaty and it will be only the second time it has entered formal negotiations with the Crown.
A Tuhoe spokesperson says the signing signals the start of negotiations for a settlement on historical grievances and claims.
