A body found in Wellington Harbour has been formally identified as missing teenager Olivia Rutherford.
The 15-year-old was last seen by friends in central Wellington about 6pm on Friday. She had been reported missing earlier in the day when she failed to turn up at St Mary's College.
Members of the police dive squad removed a body in a body bag from the water by the Overseas Passenger Terminal just before 11.30am on Tuesday.
Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Borrell says there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death and the matter is likely to be referred to the coroner.
Mr Borrell says the Rutherford family wish to thank the public for their help and messages of support, but have requested privacy to deal with their loss.
Local Maori have blessed the area where Olivia Rutherford was found.
